In a 4 x 4 factorial crossover trial involving groups of 4 Murrah buffaloes, selected on the basis of milk yield, days post partum and parity, green berseem was given ad lib. at 1, 2, 3 and 4 h before milking; 3-day feeding periods were separated by 3-day adjustment periods.
