In field trials on a previously uncultivated cerrado soil at Goiania, Brazil, soyabeans EMGOPA-301 and Santa Rosa seeds were inoculated with Rhizobium strains CB 1809, 587 or 29W, or 29W + 587 (commercial inoculant), or with strains 587, 29W or 566 isolated from nodules of soyabeans grown on unlimed cerrado soil. Additional treatments included 80 kg N/ha without inoculation and a control with neither N nor inoculation.
