Insects infesting wild mung Vigna vexillata in India

Records were made of the insects infesting wild mung (Vigna vexillata) in the field in Dharwad, Karnataka, India, during June-September 1985. The acridids Atractomorpha crenulata and a species of Chrotogonus, the arctiid Spilosoma obliqua the sphingid Agrius convolvuli and the pyralid Lamprosema indicata were observed to feed on the leaves. The eurybrachid Eurybrachys tomentosa was found in small numbers sucking the sap from the branches but did not cause visible symptoms of damage.
