Instability in Tamil Nadu groundnut production
This paper analyses the determinants of the variance in groundnut production in North Arcot, South Arcot, Coimbatore and Salem, Tamil Nadu State, India. Time series data was gathered from the period 1965/66 to 1988/89, for the area and yield of groundnuts; each set of variables being subsequently detrended and centered around the mean areas or yields for each period. Yields and the area shown were multiplied together to arrive at production levels.
