Integrated pest management of cotton pests: a compromise between biological and chemical control

Plant Protection News (29): 6-7

This article on the integrated control of arthropod pests on cotton in South Africa includes a note that the parasitoid Cotesia kazak has been introduced from New Zealand and is being released against Heliothis armigera The IPM approach to pest research on cotton in South Africa has been instrumental in a decrease in insecticide use, and the savings in pest control have played an important role in helping to keep cotton farming profitable.
