Field trials were conducted on silt loam at Belleville, Illinois, in 1989-90 to determine the interaction of terbufos and nicosulfuron on maize Pioneer 3471. Terbufos (1.12 kg/ha), applied in-furrow at sowing, interacted with post-em. nicosulfuron (53 kg/ha), which was applied at the 3-, 5- and 7-leaf stage of maize growth, to cause significant injury 25-60 d after sowing in both years. Injury decreased significantly when nicosulfuron was applied at the later growth stages of maize.
