Intraocular gentamicin and glaucoma: a retrospective study of 60 dog and cat eyes (1985-1993)

, : Intraocular gentamicin and glaucoma: a retrospective study of 60 dog and cat eyes (1985-1993). Veterinary and Comparative Ophthalmology 4(3): 113-119

Retrospective evaluation of pharmacological ablation of the ciliary body in dog and cat cases allowed the identification of variables which affect the outcome of the procedure. The type of glaucoma, location of injection, concurrent use of corticosteroids, and amount of ocular fluid removed had no significant effect on the postinjection intraocular pressure (IOP). Eyes treated with >= 20 mg of gentamicin had a significantly lower postinjection IOP compared with eyes treated with < 20 mg.
