Intraspecific variation of the pine moth Dendrolimus pini L. (Lepidoptera, Lasiocampidae) during an outbreak

, : Intraspecific variation of the pine moth Dendrolimus pini L. (Lepidoptera, Lasiocampidae) during an outbreak. Entomologicheskoe Obozrenie, 701: 61-69, 261

Studies in foci of infestation by Dendrolimus pini at a farm in the Voronezh region of the former USSR in 1979-81 showed that, at the peak of an outbreak, mortality of the 1st-instar larvae was of greater importance than the sum of all other mortality factors. Relationships were established between pupal weight and the egg weight and 1st-instar larval survival in the progeny at this time.
