, : Invasion of ixodid ticks Rhipicephalus sanguineus complex (Latreille) to domestic animals on the Island of Mljet (Yugoslavia). Otok Mljet Ekoloske i Zdravstvene Prilike: 71-82

The spring infestation of domestic animals by ixodid ticks was investigated on the island of Mljet, southern Dalmatian coast of Croatia (then part of Yugoslavia), in 1981. Of the 110 ticks collected (in April-May), 47 were R. sanguineus s.s. and 63 were R. turanicus. Goats were the principal hosts, followed by sheep and dogs. R. sanguineus was also found on donkeys, and R. turanicus on cats.
