Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome
A case of invasive pulmonary Aspergillus fumigatus infection is reported in a 30-yr-old woman with AIDS. Chest radiography showed a cavitary lesion in the right lower lobe. A. fumigatus was cultured from sputum. The patient received amphotericin B (0.5 mg/kg daily) for 45 d and after 40 d chest radiography was normal.
