, : Investigation and evaluation of native plant resources in Loess Plateau of Gansu Province. Proceedings International Conference on Farming Systems on the Loess Plateau of China: 246-250

315 native plants species belonging to 52 families and 188 genera were collected in the hills and valleys of the Loess Plateau in Gansu Province in 1983-88. The dominant families were the Poaceae, Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Rosaceae and Chenopodiaceae which formed up to 51.7% of the total species. The species showing the widest distribution included Stipa bungeana, Artemisia giraldii, A. gmelinii, A. capillaris, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Cleistogenes squarrosa, Lespedeza dahurica and L. potaninii.
