Investigation of promising Japanese races of the mulberry silkworm (Bombyx mori) in relation to selection work

, : Investigation of promising Japanese races of the mulberry silkworm (Bombyx mori) in relation to selection work. Zhivotnov' dni Nauki 27(8): 94-98

In selection studies on Bombyx mori in Bulgaria in 1986-88, evaluations were made of 2 races of the Japanese group and 2 of the Chinese of unknown origin, introduced from Japan in 1986. Comparisons were made of biological traits of the larvae and technological properties of the cocoons and filament, using Bulgarian races PS-1 (Japanese group) and PS-2 (Chinese group) as controls.
