Investigation of resistant tomatoes varieties to Egyptian broomrape (Orobanche aegyptiaca Pers.)
Over 300 varieties of tomato were field tested for resistance to the parasitic plant O. aegyptiaca in Karaj during 1989-90. Susceptible varieties Koral, Early Urbana, Mobil and Primo Early were used as controls. At the time of transplanting, 2 mg of dry broomrape seeds were dispersed in the root zone of the tomato plants.
