Investigation of the effect of genetic background on QTL expression using three connected RIL populations

, : Investigation of the effect of genetic background on QTL expression using three connected RIL populations. Maize Genetics Cooperation Newsletter (68): 44

Recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were derived from crosses among 3 maize lines adapted to the north of France. RFLPs and quantitative trait loci (QTLs) were studied in F6 lines from each of the 3 hybrid populations, in various environments. The number of QTLs detected in each population appeared to be related to the difference in silking time between the parents.
