, : Investigation of the influence of rational irrigation regime on agricultural crops in the Republic of Lithuania. Proceedings 16th ICID European regional conference Vol 2 Ecological, technological and socio economical impacts on agricultural water management: 143-150

An investigation was carried out to assess how soil moisture contents could best be controlled in Lithuania. The country has variable annual precipitation and so the methods sought involved with irrigation and drainage. Annual irrigation requirements were calculated numerically for 44 different areas, and maps indicating the distribution of irrigation requirement were prepared.
