Investigation of the isolation of activated sludge

, : Investigation of the isolation of activated sludge. Soviet Biotechnology ( 4): 60-64

The shortcomings of existing methods for evaluating the capacity of an activated-sludge suspension for thickening are discussed with particular reference to their inability to predict the efficiency of separation of the sludge biomass. A method is proposed for a quantitative determination of the settleability of the activated-sludge suspension.
