, : Investigation of the occurrence of goitre in wild carnivores. Erkrankungen der Zootiere Verhandlungsbericht des 34 Internationalen Symposiums uber die Erkrankungen der Zoo und Wildtiere, Santander/Spanien 1992: 255-261

There was no evidence of goitre in 65 foxes, 32 badgers, 2 polecats and a raccoon. Average thyroid weight in young foxes was 0.5 g (0.167 g/kg body weight). There was histological evidence of increased thyroid activity (physiological activation) in 45% of the specimens.
