Investigation on micropropagation of Picholine Marocaine
Single node, 2- to 3-cm microcuttings were taken from 12-month-old shoots of mature olive plants. Explants were grown in 50% Knops medium with Miller's microelements with 16 h light at 0.005 W/cmsuperscript 2, at day/night temperatures of 27/23 degrees C. Auxins (NAA, IBA and 2,4-D) and cytokinin (BA) were added to the culture medium at 0.1-10.0 mg/1itre. Development of axillary or adventitious shoots occurred after 10-13 days on growth regulator-free medium.
