In field trials on very good rye complex soil in the Skierniewice district in 1986-89, sugarbeet PN Mono 1 was sown at spacings or 8 or 12 cm with thinning or 12 cm without thinning and given FYM + 0-240 kg N/ha as urea. The roots were divided into 5 size classes. Biological sugar yield was 7.09, 6.97 and 6.80 t/ha for the 3 spacings, respectively, and was highest (7.35 t) with 120 kg N/ha. Technological yield followed a similar pattern.
