In field trials on very good rye complex soil in the Skierniewice district in 1984-86, sugarbeet, PN Mono 1 was sown at spacings of 8 or 12 cm with thinning or 12 cm without thinning and given FYM + 0-240 N/ha as urea. Final plant populations were 97.9, 80.6 and 101.2 thousand/ha at the 3 spacings, respectively, and decreased from 100.5 to 87.2 thousand/ha with increasing N rates.
