Zeitschrift fur Pflanzenkrankheiten und Pflanzenschutz 99(2): 191-195

Over a period of 3 years (1986-88), 304 plots in Germany were evaluated for the number of mites per leaf and sugar content of grapes. The number of mites was varied by means of different acaricide applications against the pest Panonychus ulmi and its predator Typhlodromus pyri. A correlation between the number of P. ulmi and sugar content was found, beginning only at the end of August. A relation was computed from the number of mites in August and the sugar content.
