Waste water from 4 Japanese swimming pools was examined for vector or nuisance arthropods. Numerous oribatid mites (Malaconothridae: Trimalaconothrus) and larvae of Chironomus polypedilum s.l. were found in filter back-washed waste, while larvae and pupae of the psychodid Telmatoscopus albipunctatus were isolated from overflow water.
