Karyotype analysis of three pine species: Pinus nigra, Pinus pinaster and Pinus sylvestris

Karyotype analysis of three pine species: Pinus nigra, Pinus pinaster and Pinus sylvestris

Monte e Boschi 42(4): 54-58

Mitotic chromosomes from root-tip meristems of young seedlings were analysed. All three species had one submetacentric chromosome which was also shorter than the rest. In P. nigra and P. sylvestris a second heterobrachial chromosome was displayed.
