Laboratory assessment of the molluscicidal effect of B-2 (sodium, 2,5 dichloro-4-bromophenol) against five Ethiopian freshwater snail species

Laboratory assessment of the molluscicidal effect of B-2 (sodium, 2,5 dichloro-4-bromophenol) against five Ethiopian freshwater snail species

Journal of Medical and Applied Malacology 3: 97-100

The molluscicidal effect of B-2 (sodium 2,5 dichloro-4-bromophenol or phebrol), which was stored in the laboratory at room temperature for over a year, was assessed against Biomphalaria sudanica, Bulinus abyssinicus, B. tropicus, Melanoides tuberculata and Cleopatra bulimoides. The LC50 values varied from 1.25 mg/litre (B. sudanica) to 7.2 mg/litre (M. tuberculata).
