Abstract
Field trials were carried out in an apple orchard near Darmstadt, Germany, during 1990-92 to determine whether it was more effective to release 2 egg parasitoids at a 1:1 ratio or a single species at the same rate. The combination of Trichogramma dendrolimi (strain 26) with T. cacoeciae [T. cacaeciae] (strain 39) to control Cydia pomonella increased the effectiveness by 7 and 11.1% resp., compared with each of the parasitoids alone. The increased effectiveness against Adoxophyes orana was 9.1 and 14.1%, resp.
