Micropropagation of tea clones through tissue culture

Planters' Chronicle (November): 483-484

An ongoing project on tea micropropagation at the UPASI Tea Research Institute is described. The ultimate aim of the project is to develop a drought tolerant clone, but the immediate goal is the standardization of a protocol for rapid multiplication. The clones being worked on are UPASI-26, UPASI-27 (both recently released), the high-yielding BSB-1 and the well-established UPASI-3.
