Streptomyces hygroscopicus subsp. aureolacrimosus SANK 60286 (isolated from soil in Japan) produced a new family of milbemycins (see also Y. Takiguchi et al. (1980) Journal of Antibiotics, 33: 1120-1127), named milbemycins alpha 11, alpha 12, alpha 13, alpha 14 and alpha 15, together with other milbemycins.
