Diet was studied by questionnaire during 2 to 3 days in indigenous (ID) and non-indigenous (NI) residents in the Kamchatka, Chukotsk and Sakhalin regions of Russia (131, 164 and 126 subjects, respectively). Energy value and nutrient content of the diet were estimated from food composition tables. Mean daily energy intake, 2944, 3458 and 2699 kcal in ID and 2529, 2695 and 2775 in NI in the 3 regions, respectively, was adequate.
