Nutritional aspects of milk fat

Nutritional aspects of milk fat

Meieriposten 80(6, Meieriteknikk 2): 5-6

The role of, e.g., diet in reducing incidence of cardiovascular disease and cancer in the >65 yr age group in Nordic countries is examined. Reduction in total fat intake is considered desirable. Effects on blood cholesterol and health of saturated fat and of individual fatty acids present in saturated or hardened unsaturated fat are discussed. Differences in cardiovascular mortality between Swedish regions or among Nordic countries could not be ascribed to milk fat intake.
