Nutritional requirements of finishing beef cattle. 3. Calcium and phosphorus requirements for weight gain

Calcium and phosphorus requirements for weight gain were studied in 3 groups of 16 Nelore (NE), Nelore x Marchigiana (NM) and Nelore x Limousin bulls, mean age 20 months and mean liveweight 252.0, 329.5 and 338.0 kg, respectively, fed a diet of 50% roughage and 50% concentrates. Ca and P retention were estimated in 4 bulls in each group slaughtered at the beginning of the experiment.
