Body fat and protein and protein requirements for weight gain were estimated in 3 groups of 16 Nelore (NE), Nelore x Marchigiana (NM) and Nelore x Limousin (HL) bulls: initally about 20 months old and weighing about 252.0, 329.5 and 338.9 kg, respectively, given the same diet with 50% concentrates. Empty body weight (EBW) and body composition were estimated initially in 4 bulls, from each group.
