In trials at Mokpo, Korea Republic in 1963-67, transplanting upland cotton Mokpo 4 on 10 or 20 June produced 80-83% more seed cotton yield and 79-82% more lint yield than direct sowing on 10 June (just after harvesting barley), and slightly higher yields than direct sowing on 1 May. Seed cotton yield in Paymaster was similar to Mokpo 4 yield, while seed cotton yield and lint yields in transplanted Suwon 17 were lower than in the other transplanted cultivars.
