Parasitism of late instar larvae of the cattail caterpillar, Simyra henrici (Grote) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Indiana

Parasitism of late instar larvae of the cattail caterpillar, Simyra henrici (Grote) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Indiana

Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society. October; 664: 399-404

Parasitism of larvae of the noctuid Simyra henrici was assessed in 1989-91 in the Purdue-Baker Wildlife Area, 16 km west of Purdue University, Indiana. Larvae collected from Bromus inermis yielded 8 species of parasitoids in 2 orders. Primary parasitoids were the tachinid Lespesia aletiae and the braconids Microplitis quadridentatus and Aleiodes stigmator.
