Plasma enzymes activity during synchronized estrous cycle in buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)

26 cycling Murrah buffalo cows and 10 Murrah heifers were injected with 25 mg PGF2 alpha ; 6 cycling buffaloes remained untreated. Blood was sampled at intervals during the natural and induced oestrous cycles and analysed for activities of acid and alkaline phosphatases, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase and lactate dehydrogenase. Induction of oestrus had no significant effect on the enzyme activities during the oestrous cycle. Lactate dehydrogenase activity increased during oestrous and metoestrus in all 3 groups.
