Population estimation in land bearing capacity studies

Population estimation in land bearing capacity studies

Gansu Nongye Daxue Xuebao 26(3): 319-324

Population is one of the most important issues in the study of carrying capacity of land in China. The carrying capacity of land is defined as the maximum population possible on a given land area under certain living standards and production capability, as determined by production conditions. The carrying capacity of land is directly proportional to the land's production capability and inversely related to the population's living standards.
