Potato silage with the addition of whole or ground rye grain in rations for growing-finishing pigs

Potato silage with the addition of whole or ground rye grain in rations for growing-finishing pigs

Annals of Warsaw Agricultural University SGGW AR, Animal Science ( 27): 15-19

For 90 days from 30 until 95 kg 60 pigs were fed on diets containing ground rye and/or ground barley plus silage made of steamed potatoes without or with 20% whole or ground rye or 30% ground rye. Best silages according to Flieg's scale were those containing 20 and 30% ground rye. Nutrient digestibility was best in pigs given silage containing potatoes alone and worst for potatoes with wholegrain rye.
