DNA from several species and cultivars was amplified by means of the arbitrarily primed polymerase chain reaction using 10 primers to obtain random amplified polymorphic DNA for RFLP analysis and genome mapping. A DNA fragment of the cultivar Voskhod 2 amplified with the primer S13 was used as a probe for Southern hybridization with DNA of the same cultivar hydrolysed with different restriction enzymes.
