Production of plants from pollen in Cyclamen persicum Mill. through anther culture

Anther culture response was examined in diploid (2n = 2x = 48) and tetraploid (2n = 4x = 96) cultivars of C. persicum. Embryoids were produced in N6, B5 or MS medium containing 0.02-2 mg NAA/litre and 6 to 12% sucrose under dark conditions although the optimum basic medium for embryo production was N6 or B5 and the optimum sucrose concentration for embryo production was 9%.
