, : Production of telia by Cronartium flaccidum from infections with aecidiospores and with urediospores. Phytopathologia Mediterranea 31(2): 123-125

C. flaccidum, the causal agent of blister rust of two-needle pine (Pinus pinaster), develops the telial stage on the lower leaf surface of the intermediate host Vincetoxicum hirundinaria in Jun.-Jul. (sometimes Aug.) along the coast in Italy, and in Aug.-Sep. (sometimes Oct.) in the mountains. In nature, C. flaccidum telia probably require 18-22 d to form. Telia formation is followed 2-3 d later by the germination of basidia and development of basidiospores.
