Productivity and viability of farmers managed seed centres: a case study of districts Swat and Buner
The article deals with the production and distribution of high quality seed of improved varieties of maize and wheat by two farmer-managed seed centres located at the villages of Katkala, Buner district and Kota, Swat district, Pakistan. The aim was to determine the per unit cost (Rs/kg) of the improved seed produced by the registered growers of the seed centres, and to identify the benefits of the improved seed produced by the seed centres.
