Productivity of grasses in pasture in the cerrado area of the Triangulo Minervo

, : Productivity of grasses in pasture in the cerrado area of the Triangulo Minervo. Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Zootecnia 22(4): 679-693

In a randomized block experiment with 2 replicates liveweight gain of zebu-type steers weighing initially about 200 kg and quantity and quality of available forage were studied in pasture based on four different grasses in a cerrado area of Brazil from July 1982 to July 1983. Grasses used were Brachiara decumbens, Panicum maximum Guine and Coloniao and jaragua grass (Hyparrhenia rufa). Plots were fertilized before grazing with super phosphate 300 and potassium chlorate 200 kg/ha.
