In field trials in 1986-89, winter rape Silesia, Brassica campestris Perko PVH and fodder radish Leveles were grown in rows 0.25 m apart at a sowing rate of 2 million germinable seeds/ha after winter barley Sigra or winter wheat Vala. No catch crops established in 1986 and yields were mostly below 1 t DM/ha in 1987. In 1988, yields after winter barley were 4.18 t DM/ha in Perko PVH, 2.72 t in Leveles and 3.84 t in Silesia; after winter wheat, corresponding yields were 4.51, 3.14 and 4.06 t.
