Fleischwirtschaft 73(10): 1183-1186

An integrated quality control system for pigs commenced at Lubbecke (Germany) in 1991. Carcasses from 364 herds were examined for 'milk spots' on the liver, pleurisy, pneumonia and pericarditis. Tests were also done for drug residues. Attention was paid to slaughter hygiene, condition of the pigs and meat quality.
