Red clover seed production: II. Plant water status on yield and yield components

Trifolium pratense Kenland was grown on a Woodburn silt loam at Corvallis, Oregon, and seed crops were taken in 1990-91. Five irrigation treatments, and a nonirrigated control, were used to assess the effects of plant water status on seed yield. Increased plant water stress reduced the duration of bud and flower production, stem length, and actual and potential seed yield.
