Regulation of plant genes specifically induced in developing and mature nitrogen-fixing nodules: cis-acting elements and trans-acting factors

, : Regulation of plant genes specifically induced in developing and mature nitrogen-fixing nodules: cis-acting elements and trans-acting factors. Control of plant gene expression: 241-258

This paper reviews research on cis-acting elements in the 5' upstream regions of the genes responsible for nodule-specific, developmentally controlled, and cell-specific expression, as well as trans-acting factors which interact with them. The role of rhizobial "signals" and hormones in nodulin gene induction are discussed.
