Regulation of ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) by light, Rubisco activase and sugar phosphates (ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate, 2-carboxyarabinitol 1-phosphate, xylulose 1,5-bisphosphate and 3-keto-arabinitol 1,5-bisphosphate) in crop species including potatoes, Phaseolus vulgaris, spinach, wheat, Arabidopsis thaliana and soyabeans is reviewed.
