, : Relationship between DNA fingerprints and pathotype characterization of Chinese rice blast isolates (Pyricularia oryzae). Mycosystema 6: 57-64

A genome specific and dispersed repeated sequence, named POR6, from P. oryzae was cloned and used to fingerprint M. grisea pathotypes. A total of 32 isolates of M. grisea, 6 from Japan and 26 from northern China, were analysed using POR6 as a probe. Of the isolates from northern China, 22 were assigned to 8 lineages by evaluating the percentage of similar hybridization bands (Sxy) of each pairwise isolates. Some of the M. grisea isolates showed some pathotype variation with subculturing.
