In a field trial in the winter seasons of 1988-90 potatoes Kufri Bahar and Kufri Badshah were planted on 21 Oct. or 5 or 20 Nov. in 1988-89 and 16 Oct. or 1 or 15 Nov. in 1989-90, and maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded daily. Accumulated day-degrees showed a linear relationship with tuber yield and a quadratic relationship with leaf area index.
