Relationship between female body size and demographic parameters in Bactrocera Malaysian A (Diptera: Tephritidae)
The effect of body size, as measured by head width, of females of a Malaysian A strain of Bactrocera sp. (kept separately in sexual pairs) on the fecundity, reproductive rate and longevity was studied in the laboratory under ambient conditions of 28-30 degrees C, 78-85% RH and natural photoperiod. Body size significantly influenced fecundity, reproductive rate and longevity.
