Relationship between milking-time and steady-state throughputs in herringbone milking parlors

, : Relationship between milking-time and steady-state throughputs in herringbone milking parlors. Journal of Dairy Science 75(Supplement 1): 261

Steady-state and milking-time throughputs were measured on 34 herringbone milking parlours. Milking-time throughputs were calculated as the number of cows milked divided by the elapsed milking session time excluding parlour setup and cleanup. Milking-time throughput measures actual parlour performance but does not indicate true parlour performance during full operation.
